POSITION DESCRIPTION:
A short term temporary position arisen for a skilled HR Officer to provide a comprehensive, high quality HR service to a public sector organisation. This post sits within a HR team of seven people and reports to the HR Business Partner. Operating as a strategic partner to managers, the role of the Senior HR Adviser involves providing comprehensive HR consultancy and advice that contributes to the improvement of the tasks set. You will be a good builder of relationships with the ability to work well with managers and trade unions as appropriate to give best fit advice on all HR matters.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Fully CIPD qualified or working towards
• Experience of casework is essential, including experience of grievance, absence management and capability casework
• Ideally have experience of restructures and TUPE
• Good HR legislation and employment law knowledge, operating within a complex unionised environment
• Local Government experience is a bonus but not essential
• Focus on pushing back to managers rather than operational HR

Our client, a leading business in York is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant.
The role is to provide a professional finance service to the senior manager of Group Financial Reporting, the head of Group Finance, individual directors and overseas finance staff on reporting monthly Group results.
Scope will include to proactively monitor and improve upon the way in which that service is delivered relative to both internal and external reporting requirements.
Also, to provide cover in the absence of the senior manager Group Financial Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• To be responsible for the Organisation and Co-ordination and Consolidation of the monthly Group Accounts to a standard agreed by all Directors.
• To be responsible for the organisation, co-ordination and consolidation of the monthly Flash results.
• To be responsible for the organisation, co-ordination and consolidation of Group KPIs
• To maintain the Financial Reporting Software.
• Ensure all Inter company Balances are reconciled each month.
• Ensure all Foreign Exchange transactions and conversions are correctly treated.
• To ensure all Consolidation adjustments are correctly recorded each month.
• To assist the Senior Manager Group Financial Reporting in preparing the Annual Report, Half year Report, Interim Management Statements and in meeting other external financial reporting requirements of a listed company
• To prepare subsidiary Statutory Financial Statements
• To assist the Senior Manager Group Financial Reporting in documenting and improving procedures across the Group.
• To be responsible for the on-going development of management reporting and KPIs.
• To work with local finance teams to improve the quality of information and reports reported each month.
• The role is also to provide support to the Senior Manager Group Financial Reporting when on annual leave.
• To liaise across the business in relation to timetables to ensure Group Deadlines are met.
• To be a point of contact for local finance teams and provide support where necessary for technical accounting issues.
• To be a technical expert in UK GAAP/ IFRS, and other reporting frameworks to the extent that these impact the group reporting.
• To provide assistance in Ad Hoc projects as and when required.
Nature and Scope:
• The job requires regular contact with finance departments across the business to obtain all necessary accounting information and explanations.
Experience and Technical skills/ Professional Qualifications required:
Essential Criteria:
• ACA Qualified accountant.
• Possesses strong skills in numeracy and communication.
• Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience in the use of consolidations (and consolidation software).
• Strong IT skills, in particular spreadsheet skills (preferably Excel).
The salary on offer is £32,000 to £40,000 dependant upon experience with an excellent benefits package.
